Final Fantasy XV Previews New Carnival Event in Video

posted on by Kevin Yuan
In-game event opens on January 23 in N. America, January 24 in Europe/Japan

Square Enix began streaming a video on Tuesday previewing the Final Fantasy XV PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game's Moogle Chocobo Carnival in-game event. The video features Noctis wearing a Moogle/Chocobo T-shirt and exploring some of the carnival's attractions, such as a shooting gallery and a Chocobo gliding course.

The in-game event will launch at 8:00 p.m. EST on January 23 in North America, and in the morning of January 24 in Europe and Japan. The game will simultaneously release an update that improves the in-game camera function. The paid Holiday Pack+ and free Holiday Pack downloadable content debuted in the game on December 22. The free Holiday Pack includes a Moogle/Chocobo T-shirt for Noctis (available in the game starting on January 23) and a carnival ticket that allows access into the in-game event when it launches.

Square Enix announced on January 10 that the game has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide, including physical shipments and download sales.

The game sold more than 5 million copies on its first day (the number includes physical shipments and digital sales) when it went on sale worldwide on November 29. This is the fastest record for Square Enix's Final Fantasy franchise.

The game also set a new record for first-day download sales for a Square Enix title in Japan. Similarly, the game set a new record for first-day download sales plus package edition shipments for a Square Enix title in Asia (excluding Japan).
