posted on by Karen Ressler

Square Enix's Gangan Online website launched the first chapter of Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darō ka? Familia Chronicle Episode Ryū, a manga adaptation of an Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? spinoff novel, on Thursday. Hinase Momoyama is illustrating the manga. The first 65-page chapter is available now in Japanese.

The compiled volume for the original spinoff novel, with illustrations by Nilitsu, will ship on March 15 in Japan. The first volume of manga (pictured right) will ship on March 13, though the next chapter won't launch on Gangan Online until March 30.

GA Bunko began serializing the novel on Gangan Online in January 2016, and the story ended after six chapters. Writer Fujino Ōmori and illustrator Suzuhito Yasuda, the team behind the original novel series, also created the spinoff. The story focuses on the original novel's Ryū Lyon, a former adventurer and waitress at the Hostess of Fertility. One day, the quiet pub is disrupted by the loud voices of a human man and woman.

The novel originally serialized under the title Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darō ka? Ryū Gaiden: Gran Casino o Buttsubuse! (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Ryū Side Story: Crush the Grand Casino!), but GA Bunko announced in January that the "official" title is Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darō ka? Familia Chronicle Episode Ryū because it is planning additional "episodes."

Yen Press is releasing the original Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? light novel series, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? manga adaptation, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria spinoff novels in North America.

J.C. Staff adapted the original light novel series into a television anime in 2015, and an anime adaptation of the Sword Oratoria spinoff will premiere in April.
