PS4 port to ship January 18

Experience Inc. began streaming a preview for the PlayStation 4 port of the Shiin (Death Mark) horror adventure game on Friday. The video reveals a January 18 release date, and previews the system console screen and episode content added in the PS4 version.

The limited edition version of the game will retail for 7,800 yen (about US$69), and the standard version will retail for 5,800 yen (about US$51). The downloadable version will retail for 5,000 yen (about US$44).

The official PlayStation store of Japan will offer two free PS4 and PS Vita original themes for the Shiin game. The themes, "Marked Person Ver." and "Phantom Ver.," will be available until November 30, and will cost 300 yen (about US$2.50) from December 1.

The game shipped for the PlayStation Vita in Japan on June 1, and will also receive a port for the Nintendo Switch console in spring 2018.

The game is set in a Tokyo suburb that has lately seen many bizarre deaths. All those who have died bear a "mark" on their body, and urban legends swirl about these marked people, with some saying they were cursed by spirits to die. Players take the role of one such marked person, and choose another character and fellow marked person as a partner. The protagonist and partner must visit haunted locations and find clues to unravel the mystery of the mark before they die.
