The official website for the Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious (Kono Yūsha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchō Sugiru) anime announced on Tuesday that this week's airing of episode 10 will be replaced with a recap episode, which will summarize the first six episodes. Episode 10 will instead air next week on December 18. The delay is due to "production scheduling issues."
The show's third episode was also delayed by a week in October.
The anime premiered in Japan on October 2. Funimation is streaming the series with English subtitles and an English dub.
Masayuki Sakoi (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, Matoi the Sacred Slayer, Celestial Method) is directing the anime at WHITE FOX. Kenta Ihara (Saga of Tanya the Evil, Vinland Saga) is writing and supervising the series' scripts, and Mai Toda (Matoi the Sacred Slayer, Girls' Last Tour) is designing the characters.
MYTH&ROID are performing the opening theme song "TIT FOR TAT," and Riko Azuna is performing the ending theme song "be perfect, plz!"
The story begins when the goddess Ristarte summons a hero to help her hard mode video game-like world. The hero, Seiya, is exceptional in every way, but he is incredibly cautious. He does things like buy three sets of armor (one to wear, a spare, and a spare for the spare) and go full power against weak slimes (just in case).
