The Ani-One Asia YouTube channel began streaming the anime of Chikyu no Sakana Ponchan's Kirio Fanclub manga in India on Thursday. It began streaming the television anime of Mikihisa Konishi's Petals of Reincarnation (Reincarnation no Kaben) manga in India on the same day.
The Kirio Fanclub anime premiered on Thursday at 24:26 (effectively, April 3 at 12:26 a.m.) JST in the Super Animeism TURBO programming block on MBS, TBS, and 26 affiliated channels. It will also run on the AT-X channel.
Kodansha USA Publishing will release the manga in English starting on April 28, and it describes the story:What would you do if your crush had ear-splitting farts? For Aimi and Nami, the answer is to cry tears of joy for being able to pinpoint at a distance the object of their affections, Kirio, from a single toot. These are the kinds of deep, philosophical questions the two friends/rivals in romance pose to each other to prove their love for this boy who hardly seems to know they exist. That won't stop them from conducting nightly rituals to entice him into their dreams, though, or listing out what exactly they like about him, down to the very last organ. But when push comes to shove, will they choose their hilarious friendship over a shot at love?
Sō Toyama (episode director for BanG Dream!, The Apothecary Diaries, Love Live! Sunshine!!) is directing the anime at SATELIGHT. Aya Satsuki (A Girl & Her Guard Dog, Solo Camping for Two, Too Cute Crisis) is both overseeing and writing the series scripts, and Nami Hayashi (TASUKETSU -Fate of the Majority-) is designing the characters. Skirt and ODD Foot Works perform the anime's opening theme song "FANCLUB," while singer-songwriter Ako performs the ending theme song "Harmony."
Chikyu no Sakana Ponchan had announced on X/Twitter in September 2024 that the manga was getting both a live-action television adaptation and an anime adaptation. The live-action series debuted in April 2025.
Chikyu no Sakana Ponchan launched the manga on Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha's Comic Ruelle service in 2022, and ended it in August 2024. The sixth and final compiled volume shipped in September 2024. The manga had a five-chapter spinoff that ran from October 2024 through February 2025.
The manga ranked at #10 on the top 20 list for female readers in the 2025 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook.

Petals of Reincarnation debuted on Thursday on the Tokyo MX channel at 24:30 JST, then began streaming on the d Anime Store and Prime Video streaming services at 25:30 JST (effectively April 3 at 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. JST, respectively). The anime will then air on BS NTV on April 5, on AT-X on April 8, and CBC on April 10.
Shun Kudō (Grendizer U) is directing the anime at Benten Film (formerly Gaina). Atsuo Ishino (The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor) is in charge of series composition. Haruna Katō is designing the characters with supervision by Sayaka Ono (BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-). Kohta Yamamoto (Attack on Titan The Final Season) is composing the music. Pony Canyon is producing the music. Kōsuke Murayama (Grisaia: Phantom Trigger) is the assistant director, and Kentarō Azuma is the action director. Yukio Nagasaki (Love Live! Sunshine!!) is the sound director.
HIDIVE is co-producing the anime.
The manga's story centers on Tōya Senji, a high school boy who, despite excelling academically, sees himself as average due to constantly comparing himself to his overachieving older brother. He desires to excel in something and become special. He encounters a long-absent classmate named Haito Luo Buffett, whom he deems as someone exceptionally talented. He learns from her that she used a "branch of reincarnation" to claim talent from her "past life," where she was the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, effectively becoming a "Returner," a person reincarnated with their past life talent. Tōya also learns from Haito that there are other Returners, who have more ambitious plans with their talents.
Mag Garden announced the anime adaptation in August 2024 as part of the series' 10th anniversary celebration.
Konishi launched the manga in Mag Garden's Comic Blade magazine in May 2014, but transferred it to the magazine's online website in September 2014 due to the magazine ceasing publication. Mag Garden will ship the 23rd compiled book volume on April 10.
