DRAGON HALF: ESSENTIAL ANIME COLLECTION

ADV Films has set a September 28, 2004 street date for the DVD release of Dragon Half: Essential Anime Collection, a fan favorite that combines comedy, action and fantasy

Based on the popular manga by Ryusuke Mita, Dragon Half is widely considered to be one of the silliest anime series ever produced. With bizarre animation and a staggeringly stupid set of main characters, this title is the perfect precursor for fans of Slayers, and Excel Saga.

You think your adolescence was challenged? Consider poor Mink. Her dad's a famous Dragon Slayer and her Mom's a dragon. While that does have the advantage of making her abnormally strong, it's also left her with a cute pair of wings and a big green tail! Oh yes, and horns. Try explaining that your prom date! And to complicate things even more, Mink's got the hots for Dick Saucer, a fabulously popular pop idol who also happens to be a professional dragon killer. Big romantic complication! In order to beat her arch rival, the nasty Princess Vena, to Dick's affections, Mink and her inept band of friends set off in search of a spell that will make her dragon half human. Along the way they'll face evil wizards, demons and a monstrously stupid warrior who's so dumb that he has to keep saying his own name just to remember it! The world of fantasy has never been quite so weird, in the wacky comedy classic Dragon Half!

Dragon Half: Essential Anime Collection (SRP $19.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release, includes a two complete episodes in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 language versions with English subtitles. Extras include commentary with English Dub Producer Matt Greenfield, Brett Weaver, and Tiffany Grant as well as ADV previews.

MARTIAN SUCCESSOR NADESICO: ESSENTIAL ANIME COLLECTION, VOLUME 1

ADV Films has set a September 28, 2004 street date for the DVD release of Martian Successor Nadesico: Essential Anime Collection, Volume 1, perfect for science fiction fans.

Martian Successor Nadesico was voted the “Best Anime Show of All Time” by Japanese animation fans. This intriguing anime was produced by XEBEC (D.N. Angel, Sorcerer Hunters, Steam Detectives). The character designs were done by Keiji Gotoh (Kiddy Grade, Sorcerer Hunters, Those Who Hunt Elves, Gate Keepers)

The Jovian Invaders have destroyed our base on Mars, wiped out our space fleets, and now they're headed for Earth! Our only defense line is the High Mobile Battleship Nadesico with its unorthodox crew – an assistant cook as a pilot, a General's daughter in command and the largest contingent of geeks and misfits ever sent into orbit!
