ALCL - Now a Full London Anime Convention on Saturday 26th June for 800 People

With ALCL proving so popular we have taken the decision to turn ALCL into a full-blown London Anime Convention! The amount of space which we will be hiring will be far more than previous ALCL events.

Short for Animeleague Club London, ALCL is a full-blown anime convention for over 800 people! It runs all day from MIDDAY TO MIDNIGHT! Pre-pay now at http://www.animeleague.com/london/registration.php and it is just £6 for all day entry! (It's £8 on the door for all day from midday onward, and JUST £5 on the door if you come from 7pm onward!)

Watch Anime, Play Video Games, Show off your Artwork/chill with artists in the Artist Alley, dress up and enter our Cosplay Events, buy Anime & Manga from our dealers room, enter events like our DDR Tournament and pub quiz, learn Japanese Culture, and party away all night! In the evening we also have a cosplay ball! Entry to the ball is included as part of your ALCL ticket!

THE BASICS

Date: Saturday June 26th
Venue: The Rocket Complex, London Metropolitian University
Tube: Two minutes walk from Holloway Road Tube Station (To the North of the Picadilly Line)

It costs £6 to get in if you prepay, and you need to be 18 years or older. Accommodation is available at just £19.50 a night! On the day entry is £8 (but just £5 if you arrive on the day after 7pm)

Special Events - Cosplay Auction, Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament, Pub Quiz, Cosplay Masquerade, DDR Tournament, Dub That Anime, Artists Showcase, AMV Showings, Cosplay Showdown, SIX Video Gaming tournaments, Japanese Culture Talks, Manga Workshop, Cosplay Ball, Cosplay Picnic and MUCH MORE still to be announced!

COSPLAYING EVENTS

Cosplay Ball - Taking place after 7pm in the upstairs hall, this event can fit up to 600 happy cosplayers! Dress will be casual-smart, so while we do not insist on formal dress, please avoid trainers or jeans. You do not need to cosplay to attend the ball.

Cosplay Auction - The premise is simple - cosplayers are put up for auction, with the winning bidder getting the cosplayer for the evening's ball!

Cosplay Masquerade - There will be a £50 cash prize for the winner of this! A panel of judges will decide. Please note that to be eligible for the grand prize your costume must have been made by you - if you bought it then you won't be eligible for the prize (but you'll still be allowed to enter the masquerade, of course!) So, get making those costumes, cosplayers!

The Cosplay Showdown - Prepare to gather your team of cosplayers to do a series of comedy skits for everyone to watch round by round. Start getting those teams together now folks - signups will be opening very shortly! Do you have what it takes to win the ultimate cosplay showdown? The final has two teams battling each other in a Final Fantasy RP style battle! YAY!

Cosplay Group Contest - Are you in a group of cosplayers? We have a trophy here for the best cosplay group to attend ALCL. More details to be announced.

Cosplay Garden - Want to get away from the hussle and bussle and chill out a bit more? Then go visit the cosplay garden area (you don't need to cosplay but it helps!) where you can sit down, relax, have a drink and chat with fellow attendees. There will also be improvised games going on, such as anime-twister and so forth. Maybe even a picnic!

ARTISTS

We shall be majorly expanding what we're doing with artists. We shall be giving away up to a dozen art-tables to aspiring artists for nothing - we want to support the art community! Email us at info (at animeleague.com) if you're interested!

VIDEO GAMERS

Big Announcements coming soon for video Gamers! It's going to be far bigger and better than previous ALCLs, so watch this space!
