Azuki Licenses Three New Series: 'Turning the Tables on the Seatmate Killer!,' My Dear Detective: Mitsuko's Case Files, and Invisible Parade

LOS ANGELES, CA—At their Anime Expo 2022 industry panel, digital manga subscription service Azuki announced that they have licensed the manga series Turning the Tables on the Seatmate Killer!, My Dear Detective: Mitsuko's Case Files, and Invisible Parade (published by Glacier Bay Books) for worldwide distribution (outside of Japan) in English. Invisible Parade is available now, while Seatmate Killer and My Dear Detective will launch in August 2022.

Turning the Tables on the Seatmate Killer! is Bachi Miyako's manga adaptation of Aresanzui's romantic comedy light novel series. Azuki will translate the series, which will be available in English exclusively on the Azuki website and apps. The manga was originally published by Futabasha in Japan and the light novel is available in English from Tentai Books. The official synopsis is below.

Yuuki Narito's new seatmate Yui Takatsuki is the notorious “Seatmate Killer,” who strings guys along before breaking their hearts. But Yuuki's so clueless he might be immune to her charms! And so begins a fierce competition between two seatmates in this hilarious rom-com.

My Dear Detective: Mitsuko's Case Files is a mystery period piece by Natsumi Ito. It was originally published by Futabasha in Japan and will also be translated by Azuki and available in English exclusively on Azuki. The official synopsis is below.

Mitsuko is Japan's first female detective in the turbulent 1920s! When a handsome college student shows up with a new case, he ends up assigned as her new assistant. Join Mitsuko and Saku as they solve cases, explore the changing cultural landscape of early Showa-era Japan, and maybe grow a little closer along the way in this fashionable mystery series.

Azuki will release new chapters of both Seatmate Killer and My Dear Detective every week until they are caught up with the Japanese release, at which point they will begin releasing new simulpub chapters the same day as Japan.

Finally, today Azuki added Invisible Parade, a collection of manga short stories created by painter and independent comic artist MISSISSIPPI (Tsukiko and the Satellite and other stories) and published in English by Glacier Bay Books. The first few chapters are available now on Azuki's website and apps, and the remaining chapters will be added in the coming weeks.

“With these new series, Azuki is continuing our investment in bringing fresh stories to our subscribers, from romantic comedies and mysteries to unique independent works,” said Azuki's Co-Founder and Marketing/Licensing Director Evan Minto. “With a single subscription, fans can easily explore the diverse stories manga has to offer.”

Azuki is available on the web at www.Azuki.co, as well as in the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. For free, fans can read select chapters from its catalog of over 200 series, including hits like Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail, new series like Hikaru in the Light! and The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting, and indie manga like Pop Life and Children of Mu-Town. Azuki makes the latest chapters of a number of series available as simulpubs as soon as they are published in Japan.

For just $4.99 per month fans can sign up for a Premium membership and read the entire catalog with no ads. A 14-day free trial and a discounted annual plan are also available. All titles are available worldwide (except Japan) in English.
