Love in a New Body

What's It About?

love-in-a-new

Though short on cash and without parents, the protagonist of Love in a New Body loves his little sister, Yui, so much that he decides to give her “Fulfill One Request” coupons for her birthday! The last thing Big Bro expects, though, is for her to ask him, which will transform him into a girl for the next two weeks. Of course, he says yes, and the two quickly start bonding in ways they never have before.

Love in a New Body has a story by and art by Marbin. English translation is done by Chad O with lettering by Sandra Deguer. Published by Irodori (March 28, 2026). Rated M.

Hey now, who among us hasn't fantasized about being magically transformed into a girl so that we can shed the bonds of gender norms and allow our younger non-blood-related sister to care for us both romantically and sexually? (I swear I'm cis, it's just that my brain chemistry makes a lot of socially determined gender norms feel not-normal to me.) Regardless, Marbin's Love in a New Body explores this fantasy and does so in a way that's wholesome, informed, and surprisingly inclusive!

Beginning with an intimate and cute shared moment of body exploration, Love in a New Body transitions into a flashback that covers the aforementioned adopted sister Yui joining the protagonist's family and the two bonding over the shared experience of losing their parents. While the protagonist not having a name feeds into the trend of hentai leads being boring, same-face, self-inserts, that actually works really well with the gender and identity themes that this work touches on. As soon as the lead transforms into a girl, the work allows them to start exploring their identity outside of a caretaker and provider. They get to be smol, they get to be the little spoon, they get to be vulnerable and cared for; and it's super affecting to see them blossom and find comfort in this new dynamic.

This spice to balance out this sweetness includes various sex scenes, where the protagonist has penetrative sex with their adoptive sister in locations typical of this genre, like the changing room in a women's clothing store and the bed that the two used to sleep in together when they were younger. With its focus on gender themes and roles, I love that Love in a New Body is so casual about Yui being trans that it never explicitly calls it out. I'm not sure if that's a consequence of Chad O's translation or Marbin's original writing, but either way, it's absolutely the correct choice and normalizes this body type and identity.

My only mark against Love in a New Body is that the art is a bit in-development and the panel can be fairly busy and difficult to follow. While I definitely think these elements will improve in their future works, these qualities were distracting enough to warrant mention in this review. From a narrative, thematic, and sexual perspective, though, Love in a New Body is absolutely perfect, and I hope that the already set-for-release sequel lives up to the high water mark this manga sets. Of course, I will be the first to admit that I'm a cis guy sharing my own opinion on a work that's tapping into fundamentally trans ideas, but it really feels like there's something special here, and I hope we see more doujins that touch on these themes rise in popularity and accessibility.

There's a lot about this story that felt more unintentionally funny than it did sexy. A lot of that comes down to the fact that there were just random plot points thrown in just for a very specific kink scenario. I appreciate that the story just gets right to the point, but I also couldn't help but find that incredibly distracting. This is a story that starts somewhat emotionally, being about two STEP siblings who both lose their parents and need to take care of each other. The brother wants to do a favor for his sister's birthday, but her favor is that she specifically wants him to turn into a girl so that she can fuck him with a dick that she just gets out of nowhere. I'm assuming it was from another drug, but the story really doesn't dwell too much on the details despite the rather dramatic opening.

Does the story at least have some good sex scenes to justify all of this forced setup? Not really, if anything, the sex itself is a little bit bland, and I'm not a big fan of the way that the generals are drawn personally. I actually think the story excelled more at the teasing/buildup to the sex rather than the sex itself. There's this buildup of the brother slowly becoming more comfortable with being teased as a girl, so there are a few scenes of the little sister generating that addiction. But at some point, the story just kind of fast-forwards to get to the ultimate sex scene, and it doesn't feel earned. This is the story that probably would've benefited from being a bit longer, but I'm not sure if that would have made it more interesting in my eyes. If you are into pseudo incest and futa, this is OK, but I do feel like there are better ones that I could recommend.
