Rarely am I surprised that a particular erotic work would be localized and made officially available to English-language readers over another, but my readthrough of Kisara's Submission x Contract left me scratching my head. It's not that it's particularly bad or offensive; it's just that it didn't make any distinct impression on me. Genuinely, my first thought after finishing this one was “I wonder why this doujin got picked up over the countless others that haven't been licensed.” I don't mean any of this in a derogatory way, but rather I'm curious about whatever process leads to this forgettable work getting picked up over others.
Submission x Contract follows Kisara, a stereotypical cool beauty who's both at the top of her class and works as a model and actress. She becomes her classmate's sex slave when he snaps a photo of her and her secret boyfriend, Taichi, kissing, and threatens to blow up her career in a way that would make Taichi feel responsible. This means that until they graduate, she has to agree to any sexual request he makes of her, which usually involves costumes, nipple play, and orgasm denial as a means to drive her deeper into sexual depravity.
To be blunt, Submission x Contract's more limited art really blunts the impact of this work. Kisara is in the process of being trained to be her blackmailer's perfect sex pet, with him coaching her on how to act and emote, but expressions and body language are so stiff that these scenes don't have much impact. This is a shame, as, for as often as the trope of blackmailing an idol or similar performer who isn't supposed to have a boyfriend appears in hentai, very rarely do they lean into the fact that these characters are trained actors who could utilize those skill sets in sexual situations.
Submission x Contract also ends with an NTR/cuckolding scenario, which felt a bit forced as we never got much of a sense of Kisara and Taichi's romantic chemistry or dynamic. While this work is by no means offensive or particularly egregious in any regard, the bit of novelty it deploys doesn't make up for its limited writing or artwork. Especially with how commonplace many of these themes and kinks in this work are in other doujin, you can probably skip this one and find similar ideas executed better without much difficulty.

Edging is the cornerstone of moral degradation. Teasing and training another person's body to be sensitive to your specific interests can be a very fun scene if you and the other party can commit to it because you're not changing anyone's sexual sensitivities in a single session. What I like about this story is how it really leans into the idea of taking your time to wear someone down to the point where there is barely any actual intercourse in this story. A lot of it is edging, nipple play, private humiliations, etc. Yes, the setup is very typical of a lot of NTR stories with a privileged student trying to break down a very stoic beauty, but I have to respect the commitment to the breakdown.
This story portrays edgeplay over the course of a long period of time, and I really felt how agonizing some of that buildup was. I think it also helps that this is one of the few porn stories in that guide that has a sense of style to it. There's a lot of use of black smears that almost makes some scenes look painted. It's a little messy, but I think that adds to the deteriorating mindset of the girl who is being edged. Honestly, this is a solid read. Even if it didn't fully titillate me, it definitely grabbed my interest.
