I don't think they will be VizBig, they will be more like the ONE PIECE 3-in-1 Collection that Viz released a couple of months ago, the new titles are FMA, Naruto and BLEACH the price $14.99

I got the first One Piece omnibus and the spine broke halfway through reading it. And it's not like I did anything unkind to it, I'm OCD when it comes to keeping my manga in good condition.

I've been meaning to start collecting Kekkaishi for the longest time now, so now I just might wait for the omnibuses. Or maybe not, if the quality does indeed suck. And maybe the Bleach omnibuses mean there will be a speed up like with One Piece (seriously Viz, when are you gonna do it?).

I love the VizBig editions, but I'm not exactly fond of the other type. I'd rather pay a few bucks extra for a huge boost in quality.

From the link you posted, I see a FullMetal Alchemist Omnibus. I want that. I guess Viz Media is striking multiple options.
Boxsets, Vizbig Editions, Omnibus, and that Death Note Black Edition. Though if I want Bleach (which I don't), I rather pay for the cheap boxset then the single omnibuses. But if I want DBZ, I rather have the VizBig then the boxset. That's my take on it. |

That's so cool that viz is going to release omnibus volumes of Bleach! I'm so buying them! Plus, i want them to do a catch up with Bleach like they did with One Piece and Naruto! That would also be cool! I love Bleach!!!

Hey, I could fill a few holes in my own collection with the Bleach omnibus volumes. I wouldn't mind if they re-released some older titles like this. Steam Detectives anyone?

No wonder I couldn't find any new editions, 'cus the company didn't use the "VizBig" label this time. I wonder if the fact that Bleach and Naruto are getting those 3-in-1s means their series are wrapping up in Japan.

I was at Barnes & Noble yesterday and took a peek at the One Piece Omnibuses. Yack Deculture! The paper and printing quality are like Shonen Jump magazine quality. If these new ones are like that, I'll pass.

Yay. Now I have a reason to pick up Kekkaishi. I was going to wait and see if Japan would make a second anime to the series, since it got really great ratings, but if the manga's coming out in a decent sized collection, then I'd prefer to get it that way. I'd pick up FMA...but with Brotherhood out, I'd rather just pick up that.

I might pick up Kekkaishi this way, but I have no interest in cheap, poor-quality Bleach/Naruto/FMA.

Whew, glad people are interested in Kekkaishi now! I seem to be one of the 15 people who have been collecting the series almost since it started coming out back in 2005ish but there's nothing wrong with more people getting in on it! Hopefully the backlash from everyone being mad at [adult swim] for picking it up instead of Soul Eater won't affect sales when the omnibuses come out! Hope it'll lead to more people discovering this series as it's one of my favorite ongoing ones (and probably the ongoing one I've been collecting for the longest at this point, sheesh 5 years already!)

I've been reading the scans for years(judge me how you will), but wanted to see if the anime would be put out here...though since Viz likely isn't going to put out the DVD's(for obvious reasons), collecting the omnibuses, sounds good |

Hmm. Despite having 40+ volumes of Naruto on my shelf, I'm very tempted to buy the omnibuses just to start saving room on my already small shelf space. Also FMA omnibuses? I'm so there.
Sadly at the point when these come out I'm supposed to be saving up for paying back school loans and moving out on my own but I get the feeling I won't be able to resist getting them. XP |

Wait, how does 3 volumes in one book save any more space than 3 volumes in three separate books? If anything, it might take up more space since the books are taller, if you're going for the vertical stacking, you can't stack as many rows side by side. If you're going for horizontal stacking, you may need higher shelves (at least I would, several of my shelves cannot hold anything larger than a standard sized book tall), even then you'd only save a fraction of space (two thicker cover sides vs 6, but it seems negligable) |
