These are mine:

1. Vash the Stampede (Trigun)(I love his looks, his character, his Japanese voice. I love everything on him)
2. Guts (Berserk)(Cause his muscles, and his sword and that he often goes berserk)
3. Alucard (Hellsing)(His looks and character)

..how are most of those Bishounen anyhow? I mean, the first one is, possibly (though doesn't have enough angst to really qualify), Guts is actually fairly masculine, and Alucard is derranged in the not-so-pretty way.

You're exactly right. Most people (particularly drooling fan-girls) throw that word around without really knowing what it means. They seem to translate bishounen as "any guy that looks hot" and that's not so. Vash, Gatsu (Griffith, however, is), and Alucard are not bishounen. Not only are those characters older, but you can't exactly mistake them for women. Bishounen literally translates to "pretty boy" or "beautiful male." Youth and effeminate characteristics are the primary attributes of a bishounen. Check out Fushigi Yugi, X, or Fruits Baskets. Great examples of bishounen there.

So would Kenshin be considered as bishounen then? I think so, but not sure.

I'm the bishounen lunatic... Anime smallmouth

Hisoka, Tsuzuki, and Watari from Yami no Matsuei (I like Tatsumi too, but I don't know if he'd be a bishounen or bijin seinen, given that he's an adult and not particularly feminine, although definitely good-looking). The guys from Generator Gawl (Ryo, Koji, and Gawl). The Gundam Wing crew (again, not sure if they're technically bishounen... given, they're young, but I don't know if the effeminate bit would really describe them, even given Duo's hair Anime smallmouth)

Vampire Game, although a manga rather than an anime, is chock full of bishounen, and they're definitely in that category... as someone put it, the guys are prettier than the girls! Yuujin, Darres (who looks rather like a slightly older, much prettier Saya from Last Vampire), Duzell, Illsaide, Seiliez... I could go on and on...

Shinomori Aoshi I guess, though not because he's a bishounen, but because I like his mentality. He's also a great fighter, and I would love to be a loner like him (though his and my personalites are complete opposites Razz).

Umm, Sesshoumaru is also cool, and maybe Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi. I like Sesshy for the same reasons as Aoshi. And Hotohori, I think, has great character to him (dignity-wise). He's strong, cool under pressure, and isn't as obsessive about Miaka as Tamahome Rolling Eyes.

Almost Seinen means young person, as in 20-something. So bijin seinen means beautiful young person.

Favorite bishie? Inyasha of course!

To me, bishouunen are male character that look like female. They arn't muscular. They're usually associated with flower or something. I don't think Brandon is. Jin isn't either, because he's portray more as a intellectual calm person rather than a pretty boy. If you want a really good porady on the "bishounen" character, go watch Green Green. There's a garden scene were two male character (that look like female) fall in love or smething. It was a hilarious piece.

Sephiroth from the new Final Fantasy Advent Children is portray more as a bishounen. He looks very similar to the villain from Azumi also. And they both look like Skurai from Ragnarok the manga. Well to me.

It's weird how bishounen are usually presented as the strongest of villians (or good guys). A good example of this is at the start of Berserk; Griffith is a total bishounen, yet he easily defeats Guts who is way more muscular and "manly." Here, with American cartoons all the heroes and villians are all buffed out. It seems to be just a culturally different viewpoint than what we have here in America.

Yeah, I associate "bishounen" with pretty boys who have small frames, some on the rather effeminate side. I think it is a lot easier to find pretty boys though mainly because I have never seen any yaoi(and don't plan to...I think).

Just to clarify things, all of this is from a guy's point of view:

Balmung of the Azure Sky(.hack series)
- You don't find a well-mannered, sophisticated man like every day... He is definitely more of the intelligent type; and who here doesn't like a good talker? Not to mention that the long white-ish hair is plus.

Kaworu Nagisa(Neon Genesis Evangelion)
- Philosophical and very open, he is probably the one true bishounen of Evangelion. He is a little on the..."queer" side, but he is still a favorite nonetheless.

Kamui Shiro(X)
- Well, in the series he is moody and mysterious and enigmas are good. He is rather detached to most people at first but loosens up once he trusts them; apparently, you have to work to get this one, lol. And I have never seen a school uniform pulled off so well on a guy; I have to admit that.

Well, here be my two cents worth:

Hatake Kakashi from Naruto - I just love his personality. He's laid back and came be slacker at times, and yet he always pulls through for his friends and loved ones.

Yakushi Kabuto from Naruto - He's one of those who, when you first meet him, you don't quite know who's side he's on. Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy? And his skills seem to rival Kakashi's at first.

Monou Fuuma from X tv - Though he's not evil at first, he develops into one of my favorite villians. Plus he has some kick a** clothes Wink .

Too true. That's one of the reasons I'm not real big into American comics... all the male characters look like insanely overdone bodybuilders. I'm sorry, but the lives-on-a-diet-of-steroids look is *not* attractive.
