I can't recall the details, but I'm pretty sure production of the Inu-yasha anime stopped while the manga was still continuing. Hell, the manga STILL is going strong, with 38 volumes to count and no sign of Rumiko Takahashi letting up. Also, Excel Saga ended at 26 episodes and the manga is still being released.

Take pretty much ANY anime based off a manga, and 9 times out of 10 the manga goes past the anime. I think that answers your questions. I will try avoiding listing all those manga titles thank you very much.

Yeah I have to agree. . . Rurouni Kenshin(anime) ended with the Kyoto Arc ... yet in the manga thats like vol.14 or 15 yet there are 28 in all... so it not a surprise that its always in the top 3 in the manga sales... andi think it will be until their all released oh yeah...the anime...well there were all those damn filter episodes so... whatever...

Actually, it ended with 30+ episodes of filler after Kyoto. Just because they were really bad doesn't mean they simply don't exist...as much as we often wish that were true.

Also, no signatures.

It is. So far, only the anime TV series has stopped production.

Hana Yori Dango / Boys Over Flowers too... The manga ran from what... 1992-2003 or something while the original live action movie came out in 1995 and the anime aired from 1996-1997. So the manga continued for a good 6 years after the anime ended. This is why anime endings are sometimes kind of strange. The writers have to try to wrap up the story before the source material is ready to be wrapped up Anime smile

GTO goes on from the anime? Do you recommend that I check it out?

Berserk and Inuyasha are still on going. Berserk's newest volume (28) came out sometime in February, and Takahashi announced that she would like Inuyasha to ideally, reach 500 chapters. I believe the next Shonen Sunday released this Wednesday in Japan will be Chapter 402. (I have been following the story. Man, does it drag on and ON.)
