Wait, so the Kare no Kyoukai box is still available in Japan? What made it so limited, then? Can't we still import it?

Some weird numbers they got for Stratos here.

http://dvdbd.wiki.fc2.com/wiki/IS<インフィニット・ストラトス>?sid=64d778040154cd6fa2199ad3ebb32191

The 6th volume sold the least amount of BDs, yet for some reason they only have that one on this list. First volume sold like 28k BDs vs 22k for 6th volume.

This is a sales chart for 2011. Most of the Blu-ray Discs for Infinite Stratos were released in 2010, so most of their sales counted towards that year instead of this year.

What? The show didn't even air in 2010, it started to air in January 2011

Sorry, you're right, that should be Volume 1 on the chart.

Looking around at various Japanese shops, it looks like it's pretty much sold out at this point. (Amazon lists 1 in stock, but from a partner seller at a premium price.)

The U.S.-shipped version had a booklet added to it with a translation of the text in the books that came with the set. That booklet was more limited than the general Japanese release.

Wonder why Disney did not do a Bluray+DVD pack for Arrietty like they do with their own films......... Confused

Ghibli against it?

Not surprised Rapunzel beating the other Disney animated films, even though those other films are more popular in America. That's because Rapunzel is the most kawaii moe among them. Laughing

(Then again, Cars 2 was only just released...........)

Terrible way to judge sales IMO

Easy to spin a combo pack's sales data on the BD section when it has DVD included.. most of those sales are for DVDs and you can't really use that data in a chart like this

BD and DVD being seperate gives you a better idea how well they really sold

I assume Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa isn't on the list because it was bundled with a PS3 game. I wonder how it would have placed.

Seems all the Disney animated films have a Bluray+DVD pack, so yes, we can compare those directly.

I'm glad that Gundam Unicorn is so popular. It really deserves it.

They also have a BD only option. Cars 2 BD only sold 19,613. Biiiiig difference

(Fix your quotation.)

Rapunzel also has a BD-only set, and it's doing at least 16,899.................. So not a big difference at all........... Actually, both of them are just about tied (137,174 vs. 138,320)................ Oh well, my bad. Laughing

Rapunzel: 16,899 BDs + 120,275 BD+DVDs = 137,174
Cars 2: 19,613 BDs + 118,707 BD+DVDs = 138,320
