Whats the different between the OVA and the tv version?

OVAs are released directly to home video. TV versions are shown on TV. In a very general sense, that means the OVAs can be racier than stuff shown on TV.

ovas tend to have nicer animation almost most of the time, than its tv counterparts, but I'm not sure if thats always the case.
