.....always this boring. Every time I come here, none of the topics seem interesting. They are always very repetitive, and there is never anything going on. The threads are never long and nobody here seems to have a real discussion.

Do you think people would like to hear my latest topic? I don't want to post it but my wife has been having a hard time with a spamming, sick, deviant woman from Canada who's harrassed her fan site, bombed her computer and spread slander about the Anime sites. Her actions and site are damaging to our favorite anime. I wanted to do a post around this situation, which is coming very close to a lawsuit. In fact, Ill be meeting with my Navy Legal officer tomorrow to look at my options for going after this misfit.
Anime has its good fans but it has people better banned from the internet for the dangers they pose to some popullar fan bases.

Ah, but you can only blame yourself! This is a forum, if you don't like the topics then start a new one. If you want the topics to be more interesting them make them more interesting. You can't expect people to do it for you.

sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with some dweeb in Canada (no offense to canadians reading this post!). I don't think legal action would help because the courts wouldn't have personal jurisdiction over this fiend in Canada. if you're serious about suing, you gotta go to a Canadian court.
I don't think you even need to go that far. Make copies of the offensive posts and talk privately to the forum owners regarding this situation. Hopefully, the owners will suspend or ban this individual. And if the user continues to evade the ban, then the forum owner could try to persuade the user's ISP to ditch this woman.
It's a matter of making a paper trail, and getting "neutral" people involved, so to speak.

Uhuh. Actually, they closed.
Fact is there are many Anime forums on the Internet that are significantly more busy than ours.
People may find others more to their liking, but obviously a good number of people happen to enjoy this one very much, and I'm not all that interested in having the number of poster's here baloon too rapidly. The smaller forum permits more intelligent conversation.

I happen to like the way this forum goes. There are relatively few pointless posts, and the incidence of flames and trolls are relatively low, which makes for a nice forum. But then again, nearly every forum has them, just depends on the concentration of them. We also manage to get a few really good threads going every now and then.

This is by far the best organized and among the most knowledgable forums that I've ever been on.
An example of a terrible forum would be Adult Swim message boards.
I'm a mod there, so I have to sift through alot of un-intelligible and pointless spam every time I go on.

So then go away if you don't like it here. What's so hard about that?

The last 4 threads to get locked down were all about fansubbing. Do we really need eight dozen threads about one renegade bootlegging group?

I find it funny that he posted about that and another person gave him a link to a forum which Tempest says is closed.
Anyways, my favorite forums:
ANN: Same reasons everyone else is saying.
Outlaw Star.Net: Smart posters and you can get a great laugh or two at what goes on there at the board where I Co-Administer at. Warning: if do not have a sense of humor, your not going to live long on that forum.
Werewolf.com: Changed alot since I was last there. Gotten used to the way it's set up now. While there are still stupid kids going about how a Werehunter is after them, most of the posters are smart there. Of course the kids misunderstand all the time at what ever the smart posters say to them.
Places that I go to that I don't like much:
Anime Nation Forums: How many people are going to agree with me on this one?

Hmmm, this one I really visit the most. I don't feel like, "Someone waste a shell on this guy.", well, a couple, but atleast not all the time (AS). But I also go to J-Fan.com's and AU's boards. Sometimes AU looks like AS board, but atleast TechTV's staff keep it clean and add more board and stuff. Too bad nobody uses them there. If you are a Mod for the AS board, DaVeDuDe, Clean it up! I'm sorry, but the times I was in there, I got a Hulk-size headache.
