Excluding Rurouni Kenshin because I've seen/read that too many times. I need a good samurai manga and so far I've narrowed down the choices to Samurai Deeper Kyo, Vagabond, and Blade of the Immortal. You can also recommend another one.

While I enjoy Samurai Deeper Kyo, it's the least realistic samurai manga/anime I've ever read/watched. Rurouni Kenshin is more realistic than than SDK. SDK is could be described as DBZ with samurai. Again, it's good for fairly mindless samurai-like violence, but it's not particularly deep or realistic.
I can't commend much on Vagabond of Blade of the Immortal as I haven't read them. I think Vagabond is on the more realistic side but BotI (from what little I read) is just slightly more 'realistic' than SDK. Oh, you may want to give Kaze Hikaru a try once the graphic novel comes out. It's a shoujo manga about the Shinsengumi. A young girl wants to avenge her father and brother's deaths by joining the Shinsengumi (which only takes men, of course). So she becomes a member of the Shinsengumi and tries to keep her secret hidden. I have heard good things about Lone Wolf and Cub, and Samurai Executioner (a side story of sorts to LWaC) looks interesting, so you may want to look into them. |

Samurai Executioner The rest (SDK, PeaceMaker, Samurai Crusade) arn't really on the same level, Kaze Hikaru was quite bad. Your choice will usually depends on what you're looking for. |

I've only really read SDK. i haven't really read the other samurai manga. SDK is somewhat like DBZ, but at the same time not at all. SDK has a consistent, developing plot. its not the same stuff over and over. plus it is historically based conserning the characters and time period. sure its fictional, but it is WAAAAAAY better than DBZ. definitely check it out. it was one of the first ever manga i ever got, and i still stick with it

Well i've heard that "Blade of the immortal" is a pretty good manga but I recommend "By the sword" it's and ADV manga but I prefer Clamp. Anyway By the sword is Kind of a supernatural/samurai manga. It has demonds, demon slayers, half demon half humans, a mystical sword that can only be unsheethed by one person, and a hot/bubbly atituded anime babe with a shrimpy father.
