I like Zetman, a lot. Definitely my second favourite, after I''s. But I should check out Video Girl again now it's finished, love Katsura's art.

REBORN!!!!!!OH HAPPINESS!!!! (How did I not see this yesterday?)Finally, this is the SJ title I've been waiting most for! It's great. It's been listed on Amazon for a while, but it's good to see an official announcement. And Zetman seems pretty interesting, so that would be cool if it were licensed.
Hayate the Combat Butler seems to be really popular in Japan. It's always high in the top ten. And what's Punch? |

Omg, I didn't notice it until you pointed out... is the "Reborn" mentioned in this update really "Katekyo Hitman Reborn"?! If so, then YES~~~ \(^_^)/ More Shonen Jump manga to give my life (and wallet) to... |

Yep: Volume 1 in October 2 in January Three months apart like D.Grayman. Probably because both those series are still under 10 volumes in Japan. |

Interesting it is. But it falls between the fine line of being Viz Signature material, and not. It's not really 'sophisticated' seinen, but it's definitely not shounen or anything, lots of mature content. I wonder if Viz will ever have the guts to license stuff like this. I like Young Jump's material, too bad they almost seem to ignore it. The market needs to grow up soon |

Does O-parts Hunter sound really perverted to anyone else? The little I read of the manga (the first 5 or so chapters), I recall being fairly bored by and it left me with little incentive to continue, but maybe I'll buy the first volume and it'll be better than I remember. *Forsees a label on the cover saying "From the brother of Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the hit series Naruto!"*
Amazon's 1st volume description of Reborn sounds..... odd- not really in a good way. As it's Jump manga, however, I'll buy it on blind faith and just hope its better than it sounds. The very title "Hayate the Combat Butler" sounds like it could be amusing, but the description on it's encyclopedia page sounds like something that'll turn into a constant "damsel in distress" thing. I'll probably pass on that one. Cain Saga.... finally. I've been wanting a refresher on Cain before getting into Godchild too far, so that'll be cool
True that *Gets back to waiting for Gantz* |

From what I've heard, despite its title, Hayate the Combat Butler is more about comedy and alot less action than the title would lead you to believe.
As for Reborn!...It's awesome. Of all the jump series currently running in Japan, this is one of the best. It's a good mix of action and comedy, the earlier volumes have more comedy, and a few volumes in there's much more action. Yet it never goes into the shonen fight stereotype. All fights are taken care of in one or two chapters or less. It's funny and has AMAZING artwork: ![]()
Reborn is the baby with the hat, but the main character is actually Tsuna(brown hair). |
