I would love to go to an event like this. It can still happen. Nice coverage.

So is every major animation company/studio going to have a booth set up there?

Yeah I was about to say... TAF might be more for business / investor solicitation now.. I think ACE will be more lively.

Yesterday and today (03/21-03/22) are for business visitors/representatives only, so the low turnout is due to that. The event opens to the public for the weekend.

On the way to work I passed by FamilyMart and there was an ad for the Mononoke Hime stage play on the window.

Nothing on the new Sailor Moon series that'll be out in a few months? Nothing at all? No promo images? I'm actually surprised that there's been NO promotion on it at all!

Dido here. I was hoping there'd be some sort of early promo stuff from Toei for the new Sailor Moon anime. I guess we can still hope for a trailer or something before the end of TAF? Yesyes?

Sad to hear about the schism due to Mayor Ishihara and the competing convention.

I wish Tezuka Productions turned Buddha into a long-running series instead of a bunch of movies (or even several OVAs, like Gundam UC and Akito the Exiled). There's plenty of material for them to play with in the 3000-page epic.

Don't suppose there's any chance in the world this would have English subs? If I were to somehow happen, I think I would actually pay the premium Japanese pricing for it... From the looks on Ebay, it would still be cheaper than trying to buy the OOP English release. Sad

I love the Creamy Mami anniversary booth! And the King Gainer art they have up is really cute and fun. What a nice show!

So much important mecha/sci-fi anime turning 30 this year, including the OVA format with Dallos, and Daicon IV. I wonder, between Creamy Mami and Minky Momo, which one's had more lasting impact. Mami has four other girls to keep the Pierrot legacy going, but Minky Momo did have a ton of films and a second series, and a BD release already. Mami's magical girl form is definitely one of the most beautiful of that era, if ever.
