So, Kaoru and Aoi are engaged right? So why is Miyabi always trying to stop them from being together?

How far have you gotten into the series? Because the reason why is explained pretty much from the get go.

She doesn't always try and stop. Especially towards the end and even more so in the manga but I don't want to elaborate much more otherwise I'll give a lot away. Suffice to say the "official" reason why Miyabi does that is stated rather early on. Episode 4 I think.

Because spoiler[No they're not engaged anymore. The deal their two families made was broken when Kouru, who had become fed up with the constant physical abuse from his grandfather, up and feft for Tokyo and was disowned and disinherited. Now that he's a "commoner" and no longer a member of a prestigious Japanese family the Sakurabas refuse to recognize him as an heir and as a husband for their daughter Aoi reguardless of how much she loves him. Therefore, they compromise by letting them live in a spare mansion and Miyabi's job is to make sure they don't publically display any affection for each other so as not to start any rumors that may "disgrace" the Sakuraba family]

That about covers it I think though as others have pointed out all of this is pointed out very clearly and very early on in the series/manga.

I see. Thanks for the info. To clarify, I have not watched the Anime yet. I was playing the Visual Novel of the game after reading its plot. It's short, but a good game.

No problem, you may want to pick up the manga though, it's pretty good and despite being a "harem" series it's a rather unconventional seeing as how Kouru's already made his choice of girls very early on. It's 17 volumes, 16 of which are out from Tokyopop with the last due out in a couple months. There's also a couple anime series which are also great.
