I still want to know if there are that many pedophiles around that it got Greenlit, or if it was just Jim Sterling's fans desperately wanting him to have to play the rancid thing.

Ah, so it was the publisher all along, not valve nor the dev.

Lol, only in America. Sometimes i wonder why the country with the biggest porn industry in the world complain about such trivial things.

did you even read the article? nobody complained at all, the publisher just didn't want to publish something with a pedo rape implication in it, which is something any publisher would want to avoid being associated with.

Removing one scene won't make it any less weird to have this in your Steam library.

Im surprise this was even on Steam to begin with, like little girl simulator? that just screams NOPE in Steams eyes imo considering they are very picky on VNs content.

It's not a VN. It's Goat Simulator, but with a little girl instead of a goat, as far as I can tell.

Okay, you got me there. I was mistaken. It was stupid of me to make a blanket statement like "nobody complained". Nevertheless, the content was removed because of a relatively normal reason, not just some complainers.

They removed it because of the pressure from complainers, they just had to sugarcoat it up.
Anyways, lolis have no future in anime, games or otherwise, a year or two, and everything will stop even thinking of sexualizing a loli character, just like anime does.

The author should refuse to edit its own game, leave Steam and broke with Sekai.
Now imagine, Sekai publish several visual novels, how much of these get altered based on this publisher standard?

Boycott this company, don't support their censored games, buy the original directly from the autor page or through some jp retailers like Dlsite.

What if your Japanese skills are not enough to understand it in its native language? (I can't read Japanese at all.)

The game is available in english from Dlsite, so like DOAX3, this time you have a valid alternative and chance to fight censorship.

Steam didn't force them to remove it. I don't see why the author should or would want to stay off Steam.

As for the people who localized it, screw them. Personally, I hate super sandbox type games, especially ones that visually look like trash such as this one. In fact, I really wish trash like this would stop getting on green light... Valve needs some quality standards so junk like this or Depression Quest don't make it on Steam in the first place.

However, I think it is an absolutely appalling business practice to agree to be a business partner and then intentionally do something that will have a huge negative effect on the earnings of your partner. We're not talking making some changes which may anger fans enough to not purchase something. Removing it from the most popular computer gaming platform will absolutely decrease sales.

I'd say I wouldn't be buying anything from them in the future, but I have a feeling they only do trash tier games anyway so that was already the case.

I don't want a Yohjo Simulator, I want a Touhou Simulator!

Open world sandbox of Gensoukyou with all the Touhou characters in it... Now that would be something worthy of actually caring about, unlike this.
