Ding, dong, the double paywall is dead.
I would have liked to have known sooner so I could have watched Nodame Cantabile before it was no longer available.

I'm not in the U.S. so it doesn't affect me, but I'm glad to hear that what other users around the world get included with their Prime subscription is now included with U.S. Prime subscriptions too. It was really unfair how they made people pay extra when not everyone does.

Didn't expect it to happen so quickly but not surprised. I at least thought last longer considering it actually got some decent anime unlike daisuki but considering it was only available threw prime I knew I wasn't going for it. Also, the fact that it was exclusive to the states probably was a factor as well for others. I know crunchyroll and funimation lowkey sitting back like:

This article is incorrect. Pop Team Epic is also streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
Are any Winter 2018 series streaming on Prime?

Can't say I'm surprised or happy about it. More money sources is always a welcome thing but what they tried was just dumb.

Finally I can watch Made in Abyss, Lustrous, and Girls’ Last Tour legally. I had Anime Strike for a couple months back in the summer, and I did not enjoy it. Hopefully Sentai doesn’t pull the most popular former-AS titles and make them exclusive to HiDive. I’ll eventually sub to HiDive, but I like downloading offline on Amazon, and the streaming quality is really good. Overall, Amazon finally listened to the anime fans by killing this awful service, or it was simply financially in the gutter.

Love is like after the rain (Noitamina), Beatless and Killing Bites (Animeism), and Kokkoku I’m assuming

Thank you gods of anime. If Amazon wants to keep licencing 4-5 new shows per season for regular Prime in the U.S., I am actually cool with it. I assume After the Rain, Beatless, Killing Bites and Moment by Moment will still stream on Prime.

THE BEAST HAS BEEN SLAIN
Just goes to show you just how incredibly unpopular the service was. Amazon has been known to run services in the red for years before killing them so it must have been a massive money dump. Where are the Strike apologists now

I really wish this would've happened over winter break, but I'm excited to use my family's Amazon Prime streaming more for shows I've put off because they were on Anime Strike, such as The Great Passage, Inuyashiki, and Scum's Wish. Furthermore, I believe this is the cheapest way to watch The Garden of Sinners now.

This is nothing but a good thing. Now Funi and Crunchy have better chances of getting the streaming rights to shows again.

Good way to start off 2018. Anime Strike was one of the worst streaming sites I've ever seen and it showed no care to its anime community.
This news made my day.

Now all we need is Netflix to simulcast its exclusive anime offerings and all will be well. I never picked up strike precisely because I was already paying a monthly prime subscription to access content. The double paywall was ridiculous.

And there is the downside. That near-monopoly is back. Hopefully Amazon themselves pick up some anime still, like they did with Kabenari. I like their service...I just don't like the double paywall. Their customization subtitles, higher bitrate, ect, is much nicer than all the competition.
