So I'm way out of the loop but was a reason ever cemented as to why they left Konami? As in where they forced out or left on their own accord? I only mention this because back in the 1990s arguably before Metal Gear Solid and all of that was published Tokimeki Memorial probably "saved" Konami. It was a ridiculously popular game in Japan in most all formats & ports and Konami owes a lot to the dating sim genre for keeping the company afloat.
