Malroth is summoned by Hargon after his defeat. They're sticking with the original translation, as Malroth is called シドー (Shidoo) in the original Japanese released of both DQ2 and DQ Builders 2. So this appears to be an alternate DQ2 history, much like the original Builders was of DQ.
