Because no hardworking mainstream Japanese wants to be seen in public watching the anime of the manga.
(Or any manga's anime version, which's why they're being flooded with live-action "manga adaptations". And why the one-off "art" anime features like Your Name keep doing so well, since they're allowed to like those.)

In this case, whether watching the live-action version is any improvement socially, I can't honestly say. Laughing
