Was episode 934 of Dectective Conan really important to the plot of the show, or just really epic?

No, just the second part of a TV original filler that was subpar in terms of quality.

One piece and detective conan use to compete with each other 3-4 years ago, now there is too much difference in their ratings. One piece anime has definitely lost some significant audience through these years.
