Interesting development, so will they turn all their attention over to Donghua or will they still be producing Anime?

Really sad seeing greed driving people's hearts and pursue China's money in spite of their human rights violations and their ever increasing efforts to becoming a true dystopia.

Considering they're killing their employees with overwork and turned the industry into a dystopia, I'd say this is right in line with them.

Considering the bottomless money pit some Chinese companies boast (say, Tencent), kinda surprised it's not the other way around, i.e. them buying Aniplex or even anime studios.

Don't forget Aniplex is owned by Sony.

I've heard that foreign companies can not buy Japanese companies, I don't have a source or anything, but it sounds plausible.

No that doesn't sound right. Take a look at Universal Pictures, I believe they own Anime studios
