This will be fun...

The article doesn't give a synopsis on this version, but if you have seen the original and changed the family-friendly version body into a middle-aged salaryman's harmful lifestyle body, reversed the cast and also made everyone adult, and poured a good helping of lewd into the soup, you should get the gist...

Annnd Funimation will grab "Cells at Work! Code Black", and Crunchyroll won't stream it -- only Funimation will have it.

Aniplex announced in March that season 2 would air in January 2021, but did not announce at the time that it would adapt Code Black's story for animation.

This will be a fun and brutal. Anyone coming from the original series to this hold your neck and brace for whiplash.

Oh god no. Why the hell would they bother with this thing? I love the original version and absolutely hate this uglier, disgusting spin off. I was hoping they would just focus on the original and let this shitty spin off gather cobwebs. Because the grim and gritty approach does not work for a series like Cells at work, at all.

I love the original series and hate this spinoff. It's way too horny and clashes with the fun, relatively family-friendly edutainment of the original.

Are you sure that the Code Black adaptation and season 2 are the same thing? What about the recent trailer for S2? Didn’t that show new footage pertaining to the main series?

ANN is confusing me... Cells At Work was confirmed as season 2 in winter 2021, and now Code Black is winter 2021. So two separate shows from the same franchise in the same season? ANN is reporting like they will only be the Code Black anime, but I don't believe that's true. It looks like two separate shows based on the posters and trailers.

Very very glad. I liked Cells at work just fine but it was repetitive to the point where I would never watch season 2. I was actually considering reading Black soon but I might as well wait for the anime now

I am also a bit confused. Are we getting season 2 of the original AND this spin-off, or are we getting just the spin-off that they are now calling season 2 of the original?

Because tonally, these are two VERY different works.

Code Black is absolute rubbish. Can we get clarification on S2 issue here?

Considering everything going on with COVID-19, this seems like bad timing to make a darker and more grim anime version of Cells at Work.
