Considering how many titles have already been pushed back and delayed from the spring season. it is not really that surprising that the others would fall behind too, due to scheduling conflicts, repositing of titles etc. This is going to be one year to remember.

Well, the writing was on the wall. I read the article thinking they would actually name the shows.

For new anime, sure. There's plenty of backlog stuff/older shows that can still be watched in the meantime. Time to start a new show (or something too long to have started, otherwise).

I personally have already finished most backlog shows that I had interest in, and theres very little leftovers left. But I know people that have onwards of 200+ shows on their PTW, and good for them! But Im not one of them.

Doesn’t mean it’s dead.

Honestly, when it was announced that Golden Kamuy season 3 was scheduled to start in October, my reaction was, "We'll see."

I'm actually waiting and hoping for cancellations, not delays. Some projects are just unsalvageable and just needed to be scrapped. Otherwise, you'll end up with some abomination like Hatena Illusion.

Even if production on all new anime halted for an entire year, two years...five years - I'd still have enough of a backlog to never run dry. Benefits of having sweeping range of tastes and tolerance to older series. I pity those who cannot look beyond one series per season, or say they have completed their backlogs or piles of shame.
