You do know that there are anime/manga review sites out there for a reason and that is to tell you what is good in the market. I would say check them out first.
But if you must know then I would say to start collecting the Rurouni Kenshin manga definently. Some of the best in manga work I have ever seen. Hellsing, which has been recently released by Dark Horse is also very well done and easily tops the anime. If you're into shojo then I would say to check out Kare Kanno, Kodacha, and Legend of Basara. Its a very limited genre so there are not many good titles for it. The Full Metal Panic manga is also good, but I found the first and second seasons of the anime to be much better. Also I've started to collect the Samurai Deeper Kyo manga and I can tell you it is leaps and bounds better than the anime. I hope that helps. |

Just to answer someone's question I wnat to read any manga that is suspenseful and will keep you coming back for more. Anything like that. Thanks to LW also. Is Hellsing as good as they say? I haven't really invested in it because of teh anime's short length and lack of positive reviews for the last few episodes. Also, I have read the Inu-Yasha manga (some of it), The All-New Tenchi Muyo! manga (some of it) and another title... something like Samuari Warriors are something to that effect. It has that big-haired SNK character in it. That is all I know... oh well who cares?

Berserk, Battle Royale, Bastard (didn't mean to pick all "B" titles, just turned out like that) you might find these interesting, though Bastard has alot more humor to it too

I just picked up the second volume of Planetes. Good series.
It's also got fat books and it's only three volumes long. It makes it a good buy (cheap) to add to my collection! |

Trust me, the Hellsing manga is 10x better than the anime and doesn't end the way the anime does either. I think that artwork has a lot of style to it even though many people oppose it. It may not have the suspense you want, but it certainly is stylish. Easily an A in my book. |

I read somewhere that they are still releasing it in Japan, but very slowly, so the manga probablly won't be over when TokyoPop releases volume 3. However, this could just be a stupid rumor. |

Vampire Princess Miyu. I will continue recommending this series in any possibly form until someone shoots me in the head for it and I die. Definately worth the $ to get it.
