I didn't watch the video/read the article, because I like to avoid the potential spoilers in openings, but I'll be sure to check back once that's no longer an issue.

It'd be fun if this became a series looking back at the previous openings of shows to see what secrets they foretold!

I think you began your analysis a bit too late. Smile The very opening scene which you showed is chock full of interesting images that went unremarked on. In it, we see two hands casting a shadow puppet of typical bird wings that are easy for a child to make. Then another shadow comes in with a highly detailed shadow impossible for a human child to make (let alone with one hand), depicting a horseman with his sword. The first child's hand makes a crude thrust with one finger as if spearing the horseman. The latter's shadow quickly reverts to a pair of human hands creating what at first looks like an angel, but is then shown to represent a crown when merged with the shadow of the other child's head.

At first I took that to be Bojji and Kage, but Bojii wouldn't be living in a humble cottage suggested by the room's walls in disrepair, and the final shadow isn't the head of Bojji, but looks rather like young Miranjo's poofy hairstyle. Which suggests that the shapeshifting hands of her companion belong to the young demon. Which further suggests that her (or the demon's) ultimate goal is to make her the ruler.

This is quite an interesting series. Not only does the animation look more like a European or America show, but we have a deaf and mute lead.

I think the rock formations are from the place where Kage's mother was killed in the ep 2 flashback. As for the flowers, I get the feeling they represent the life force that was stolen from Bojji and was exchanged into a power that allows Bosse to turn wood into diamonds.
