showing that the number of bacteria in the body is actually of the same order as the number of human cells, and their total mass is about 0.2 kg.

To that can also be added that viruses and phages outnumber both cells and bacteria in a body by a factor of 10. Though their total mass is again smaller than even the total bacterial mass in a body(assuming a typical virus/bacteria weight ratio of ~100/1). |
