Feels like it's ending just a little too soon.

I like Kaiju No. 8 ok, but it really feels like a nothing series. Almost no interesting lore, almost no interesting characters, almost no interesting world building, etc. I could’ve sworn there was an evil Kaiju group dozens of chapters ago that never got explored, but oh well.

Yeah this about sums it up for me too. When it started it seemed interesting, a story about a cleanup worker who one day symbiotically becomes a kaiju, but as it went on it just sort of became something that I sped through every chapter and just let it wash over me and forgot about almost as quickly. Like cheap potato chips in manga form

Kaiju No 8 was a lot of fun in the beginning but it started to become and more uninteresting as it kept going
Hopefully, the ending is at least decent

The manga has been dragging for a while now; hopefully it can wrap up in a satisfactory way. It's a shame because the series started off strong and the second season is right around the corner, but it feels like the cultural zeitgeist has long passed.

Was surprised to see this.
I'd begun reading the manga before the anime announcement, and the manga wasn't too far from where the anime ended, and I decided to just stick with the anime so I stopped reading.
It is a simple but fun action story with a likeable cast. So I wasn't really expecting it to develop too far past it's premise. If it knows when to call it quits and end on a high note, then that's fine. I just never expected it to be this soon.

Honestly, this feels sensible. Kafka has achieved his goals, and the main nemesis is in the crosshairs. It's the point where you end it, or fake out and go forever. I am glad they chose what feels like the intended conclusion.

Kaiju No. 8 Relax is still ongoing. It just released its second volume in April, and the English release is supposed to come later this year. If anyone's interested.
I think Kaiju No. 8 is best experienced when binged as opposed to reading it week-to-week (or fortnight-to-fortnight in its case).

I find it really odd that this has been actually the last arc. I was reading it not as one, and so it feels reeeally stretched out, it makes more sense if it is. I was under the impression that Kaiju no. 8 will last a lot longer. There were just a few story arcs in this series, so this being the last one is unexpected, it's like it just started and a few new character introductions later, it's the final arc. I wonder if the decision comes abruptly in the middle of this arc.
I don't think it's losing popularity, despite many readers being disappointed by later chapters, still so many fans sticking to it. The authors seem to not have problems publishing chapters as well, although if minimum content per chapter is any indicator, I guess there's a degree of struggle.

And for a moment I expected that the author developed the characters a little more. but in the end Kafka become an older hot blooded action hero, powered by flashbacks and the power of friendship.
And, like any previous action series, when the final battle is won, the series is over, no need to follow the heroes anymore.

Thanks for Clarification
