Bug Films, huh? They better not mess up the release schedule like they did with Zom 100.

Hopefully this will be the only delay to improve quality.

This comes as no surprise since there has been absolutely zero news about the show for months already.

That's probably why they delayed this in the first place so they don't commit the same mistakes they did with that show.

It’s for the best, this manga deserves a quality adaptation.

I feel like there's a bit pressure for the studio to make the adaptation really good, especially following Frieren's success and praises for the animation and direction overall. And I only mention Frieren since to a degree it refreshed excitement for well-made female lead fantasy anime, and with Witch Hat Atelier's highly positive reception, expectations seem pretty high for it to compete with Frieren's adaptation, adaptation-wise.
Taking their time with a well managed schedule is probably a good idea, but if they somehow feel pressured by rocketing expectations that they spend a lot of time on it wishing to reach perfection, it may hurt them and the production in the end (as I'm reminded of Natsuko). Well I'm just hoping for no production issues behind the scene, and it's just them taking their time since they're having fun making it.

Press X to doubt. There are rare exceptions where a delay can be good for the series, I remember there's an anime pushed back to fall season but still had a screening on AnimeNYC and the staff of ann who covered it was satisfied with the result of letting them cook. I do hope this is the case with Atelier.

Shouldn't come as surprise since the director has 2 other shows on top of it in production at the same time. lol

Not particularly surprising. Usually you get an air date at least a season in advance, yet we've heard nothing despite being only a month away from the final season of the year.
Hopefully this isn't indicative of a particularly troubled production, especially considering Bug Films' track record...

Maybe the original plan is 1 cour anime but changed the plan to 2 cours because they probably want it to become like the next frieren and dungeon meshi which run for 2 cours. Also i heard that the trailer is not pre animated but also the director of zom 100 Kazuki Kawagoe is also working on a feature film movie for 2027 release date and there a lot speculation on X that zom 100 season 2 is in production but i don't think so that zom 100 is in production because the director of zom 100 is affiliated with bugfilms so that means the movie that he currently directing will be going to be produced by Bugfilms but also the producers of zom 100 is currently producing other anime from other studios like Dandadan, The Apothecary Diaries and Ranma 1/2 remake. So yeah the delayed of Witch hat atelier will helped a lot but also ayumu watanabe is also busy directing other 2 anime from different studios i wonder if that also the reason why the production slow down?

Why do people continue to be upset about the delayed episodes in Zom 100?
The final result was still pretty good, and I doubt that a delay is even going to be remembered in a few years time.
If something needs more time to cook, let it cook.

Not really surprising but not a good look for Bug Films at any rate.
