Trivia: Urobuchi has said that Thunderbolt Fantasy was planned to end with 5 whole seasons. However, he couldn't get permission for a 5th season and this movie is all he could do. So it makes ssense it feels rushed and like they're compressing a whole season. Because, he had enough ideas and plans for a whole final season but had to end it with just a single movie. It always sucks when this happens and as much as I enjoyed the movie, I would have loved to see the full season as it was originally planned.

Yes, thank you for the reviews!
Given that this got 4 seasons and three movies, I assume it was at least somewhat popular. So I will never understand why there aren't, and will likely never be, any figures for this, aside from I think 5 Nendoroids. Yes, they're cute little dickens, and Lǐn's showing up in the series proper was a spit-take and a half. But I desperately need some quality 1/8* figures from them like they did for Touken Ranbu. Nendoroids just can't capture the exquisite costuming in this, and it seems like they're leaving money on the table by ignoring that market. I cannot be consoled on this oversight.
Anyway, I was pretty happy with the finale, and hope to see more such collaborations with these talented puppeteers someday.
* 1/8 of the presumed character size, not 1/8 of the puppet size. The latter would be tiny indeed.

Probably because Good Smile Company were one of the investors in the Thunderbolt series so they only sold first party merchandise (nendoroids, cards, cosplay pieces). The Touken Ranbu miniatures they sold were made by a different company and were licensed, they just distributed them and Good Smile Company wasn't an investor in that series.

Thanks for the reviews! Overall final movie, while rushed, still feels like a mostly satisfying conclusion for the saga. Although time travel reveal is somewhat pointless, despite being foreshadowed from at least as far as season 3. Maybe more things were planned for Shang's backstory in hypothetical season 5 so it would be more story-critical.
Anyway, farewell, Thunderbolt Fantasy, you will be missed and won't be forgotten!

I still hope Discotek will one day release all of Thunderbolt Fantasy on BD because this amazing show doesn't deserve to be forgotten about in the streaming ethers.

I think Chao Feng's fate was the one that really felt the most "tying up loose ends" to me. You've got a character who's gonna cause problems as long as they're around, so…
