Nah, they got it announced exactly at April 2nd 12AM in Japan... though honestly, announcing it on April Fools probably be funnier, considering it's (fake) birthday of MC.

Nice, one more season should be enough to finish adapting the original manga, although there are also two sequel series. Hopefully Hulu/Disney+ will simulcast it.

There is a comedy mini arc at the start that could be done with 2 eps and the rest is one story. 105 chapters left to adapt. S1 had butched animation and removed 2 rape scenes but not much was skipped due to the slow pace of the manga. The longer the manga goes on, the darker it gets. Part 3 is barely a comedy. The anime stepping away from showing sexual abuse makes a Part 3 adaptation basically impossible.
