All the old-school major Lupin players are gone, except for Miyazaki. Sad I hope they're still able to do something cool for the 55th anniversary of the franchise this year. R.I.P.

First The Ring guy, and now him. Hope there's not a third. (No pun intended.)

Another legend lost. Probably the one anime composer I've listened to the most; his stuff is just amazing. RIP.

Man. This is the kind of news I hate to see. The Lupin theme is one of the most famous pieces of music in anime history. Thanks Ohno San. RIP

Oh no. Sad It's incredible how long Ohno worked on the franchise across its many iterations. As far as I'm concerned the Lupin theme is THE iconic anime song, above all others. Rest in peace to an absolute legend.

The amount of hours I've listened to Yuji Ohno's music, I could never hope to count. This man was a legend in my eyes and his music is what got me intetested in jazz.

Rest in peace. Lupin III will never be the same without you.

As a rule, I don't rank media. There's too much stuff out there, that's too good. But the old Lupin music is absolutely iconic, and one of the best parts of an anime franchise with a whole heckuva lotta best parts. Like I don't think it's hyperbolic at all to say that this music is kind of genre (or I guess medium)-defining.

God knows that classic opening theme is one hell of an earworm. I've probably played it on a loop in the back of my head more often than anything else.

I cant imagine the franchise without those tasty horns and wicked guitar licks. Lupin wont be the same without him. Sad

The jump between part one and part two was huge, and a good amount was thanks to this guy. Rest in peace.

While I’m one of the few people who thinks that Lupin’s 77 theme became a bit overused in the franchise almost every other song he has composed for it from Superhero to Sexy Adventure is addictive.

Hope he rests easy.
