"The One Piece" is real!!!

Anyway... I find it interesting that there are 2 versions of this. One with Luffy's voice, and one with the Narrator's voice. But not one with both.

The production values seem consistent with the modern OP films, surprising no one. Oda is right behind JKR in terms of sales. Look at how much money WB invested in their adaptations. Netflix or the production partners had to go all out with the live action and now the readaptation.

Lots of 3D environment work, I like that it allows for these sweeping camera moves. Although I did not expect the voice cast to be the same, considering the release schedule seems quite slow, and the cast is not getting any younger. Either way, it will be fun to watch this alongside the current show for a few weeks.

The animation looks really good…but also really safe, and honestly, not as interesting as the current anime, which is a bit disappointing.

I'm curious, since this will be on Netflix, will it use the live-action cast for the voices? Because I'm always fascinated whenever TV and film actors play roles in anime. Plus, whether they'd be good or bad at voice acting, it'd at least be a nice break from the homogenized "anime voices" you hear in every dub nowadays.

If nothing else Emily Rudd (Live Action Nami) has already cut her teeth as the dub VA for Marcille in Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi and had a generally positive reception. So I kinda could see Netflix trying to tap her to voice Nami here if they choose to not stick with the existing OP dub VAs.

Plus there's the upcoming Lego cartoon to consider. If Jacob Romero Gibson is voicing Usopp there, I see no reason why there can't be more.

I guess Tanaka is simply too iconic.

Since Mayumi Tanaka is going to voice Luffy (for the original Japanese language) once again for the upcoming remake, I wonder if the English dub will either have the voice actors from the Crunchyroll English dub or the Netflix live-action adaptation. Either way, I think it would be interesting to have one of them dub the remake, or maybe have two English dubs, but we'll see.

A bit more CGI than I would like but otherwise it looks nice. We see Luffy fighting Alvida on an island instead of her ship so it's going off the manga so far.

Too much cgi and 3d. same old voice cast. boring.
They had a great opportunity to finally get a new cast with a fresh remake yet they chose to be cowardly and cast the exact same voice actors. was expected though.

Easily skippable.

The reveal that Luffy (and likely the rest of the crew) is getting the original VA back for WIT Piece kinda makes me skeptical that we're getting a full remake now.

Honestly, we'll be lucky to go beyond East Blue but I'll take what we can get.

Replacing the established dub cast with the LA actors seems really awful and scummy but I wouldn't be surprised if they did that.
