Hey folks!
I just got started on watching Lovely Complex, an anime about a tall girl and a short guy, 'tis a tale of ungotten love, well, ungotten love in the first 3,5 quarters of the first episode. It's about a girl named Risa Koizumi (Trivia: Risa means "Giant" in my fair native language, Icelandic. Although I doubt the makers of the manga & anime went that deep to find a relatively Japanese-sounding name as to search Icelandic.) and a boy named Otani. The former is "tall" (172 cm), and the latter is short (156 cm)
Now, this is unjust. I'm 200 cm and 172 cm is very tall in this ever-fair show. It made me frown a little. Well, I guess being a guy often leads to being taller, but anywho.
Anyway, this is my first shojo anime, and so far I'm enjoying it! Although for some reason that 172 cm thing just doesn't leave my head.
I do not know why I made this thread, well, maybe it's philosophical. (Why are we born? How did it all begin? Is 21 half of the answer to everything, life and the universe?)

I too am very close to 200 cm tall (198 cm, I think - that's 6'6" for you non-metrics) and you have to admit that 172 cm (5'7'') would be a fairly tall for a Japanese high school girl. Otani clocks in at only a little over 5 feet. She towers over him.
Anyway, I thought it was a fabulous series and I hope you end up enjoying it as much as I did.
Signed,
A Fellow Giant
