Saw a post about FMA movie and I've been wondering if anybody's heard anything about its release in America...???? I was HOPING itd come out before xmas because I know one of my friends would get it for me... but i guess not =(... but any word out there on its release??

I don't think it even has come out on DVD there! But I would think a short theatrical run here in America isn't out of the question beforehand.

I'd say that common sense would suggest that it's not going to be released here until a few months after the first run on Cartoon Network ends, because from what I understand the movie takes place post-series. I'd say the series will end mid to late spring 2006, so the movie might show up on DVD late summer or early fall. That's my best educated guess.

Well If I remember correctly the Japanese release should be in December. So the Region 1 release should be sometime way off in the future like next year Christmas. Since we still need to finish off the rest of season 2, I believe that is 5 more volumes. So then at one volume every two months that would be like in October or November. I really want to see this because I am such a big fan of this series and I don't really want to watch one of the cam version. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

FMA movie will be release after all the FMA dvd are release in the states. So far, 6 out of 15 DVD are release.
End of story.
Fanboy and "common sense" doesn't go hand in hand. You forgot that Funimation own the rights to FMA and most likely the movie, not CN. |

15 DVDs? I had heard that it was only 13. . . the Vol. 6 tin seems to hold 4 discs, and vol. 7-8 are both 4 eps, so we have 7: 25-28 8: 29-32 9: 33-36 10: 37-40 (should have last tin case) 11: 41-44 12: 45-48 13: 49-51 So unless they start getting really stingy and dropping to 3 eps per disc soon, it'll be 13. As for the movie, it'll be awhile. If we compare to Bandai's Escaflowne, the last disc of that series was released in June 2001, and the movie came out in July 2002. Idk when the Escaflowne movie was actually released in Japan, but you can probably count on the FMA movie to be released late next year. |
