Does anyone know the lyrics that you here Vash, Rem, and Meryl sing in Trigun it begins with something about the first evening of pebble? Peace out.

Ah, "Sound Life" - one of my all-time favourite anime tunes.
It occurred to me, during a recent re-watching of Trigun, that "Sound Life" actually tells the story of why the humans came to colonise such a godforsaken wasteland of a world. The song tells (as I interpret it) of the Earth being hit by a "pebble" - some sort of celestial body, an asteroid or comet, colliding with Earth (first to fifth nights). The people of the world construct an ark ship, fleeing the Earth to a new place, carrying refugees (sixth and seventh nights). The ship detects a new habitable world (eighth morning), and lands there, to restart civilisation. Coincidentally, the whole thing takes seven days - the duration of the Judeo-Christian Creation, including the Day of Rest. The song ends with the new civilisation taking hold on the new planet - at least, with the hope of that happening. In short, "Sound Life" is the Creation Myth of the world of Trigun. - abunai |
