Man, strolling into my nearest Best Buy hoping to buy a new series, I was overhwhelmed by what I could buy. I'm sure similar threads like this are posted from time to time. However, I was wondering if some of you could give me an opinion on which deal to buy:
The full box set of Hellsing, the 1DVD+box of Full Metal Panic, the full box set of Gasaraki or the 1DVD+box of Rahxephon. I've heard good things about all of these series, and I did read up on them, but I still wanted a few more opinions before I make my decision. I mean, what would you get?

I'd wait for eva perfect to be brought here. Of those, Full Metal Panic is decent. I have yet to see the others.

FMP is pretty good but a little too much on the light side. Gasaraki is also pretty good but a little too much on the heavy side. I haven't seen all of RahXephon but it looks it's going to be just right. Then again, I had that feeling about Gasaraki...

Same here, execpt, the stores around here are on the slow side getting some new anime series in, execpt *Drum Roll* Wal-Mart, but that's another topic that went off topic. *L* I had to get FMP though Amozan. Oh well, with some many good series coming out, my wallet is getting thinner then me, and that's pretty hard.

Read Or Die just came out as well and Knocking on Heavens Door comes out next week.
But out of those listed, I have heard good and bad things about most of them cept maybe RahXephon. Mostly good things about that. I am tempted to buy Hellsing, but cant see spending 120 bucks for a 13 episode series :/
I am going to be picking up the Crest of the Stars set on Tue. with Bebop the Movie. Now 50 bucks for 13 episodes I can swing

FMP is not bad. Rahxephon is really good. Haven't seen Hellsing or Gasaraki. I'm getting Knocking on heaven's Door tuesday and that will be it until the Sailor Moon and City Hunter boxsets come out in July. It's gonna be one expensive month.

I can give you an honest opinion on all but Gasaraki. RahXephon seems like your best bet (IMO). The series is moving along quite nicely plus you get a nice t-shirt with the box. Although I liked Hellsing, $120 seems a little high for a 4 disc, 13 episode set.
I agree with Dan42 on FMP.

Read or Die came out. Atleast I didn't miss out of the Cowboy Bebop Movie release date. *Looks at the two banner of the Cowboy Bebop Movie.* It's kind of hard not to.

Actually, I am planning on getting the Bebop movie, and a good reason for me not to get FMP is that a friend is buying it and I wont have to pay to see it... Plus Hellsing is $106 at this Best Buy. On the other hand, is ROD a full series or what?

R.O.D. is only three episodes and they are all on one disc. It was very entertaining, so I'd say it's worth the 22-25 bucks.
Gasaraki was cool. If you like mecha and a little bit of political intrigue, this one is not too shabby for the $110 price tag.
As far Rah Xephon, it is very good so far. I recommend it.

Ah, yes.....Best Buy. Great prices at the ol' Best Buy. If you don't have an anime shop nearby or don't feel comfortable buying online, Best Buy is the best way to go. Jinkies. That sounded like a plug or something.
Read or Die is VERY entertaining. It sort of has that English action show (The Avengers, The Saint, etc.) feel to it. Gotta love how they say ...."The Pay-paa".

Hmm...my local BestBuy sells no anime whatsoever. I did saw some Digimon and Pokemon, but I don't like them anymore. I can only buy from Media Play, buy their prices are insane sometime.
