I agree with most of the choices for good anime to air...

But... why not Fighting Spirit (Hajime no Ippo)? Not only is it one of the most underrated but addictive anime ever, but it has the potential to be a huge hit with anime and non-anime fans due to the nature of the storyline. I heard Geneon pitched it to AS, but they said no. Idiots...

Can you tell I want more people to pay attention to Hajime no Ippo?

Hajime No Ippo sounds would be a good TV anime. Did Geneon really pitch it to [as]? I also agree with the fact that it would also attract more non-anime viewers. Would be a great if placed after Futurama, (Insert Crappy Alternating Show Here), Family Guy, and then "Fighting Spirit".

In all honesty, I'm highlighting Eureka 7's premiere more out of spite than anything. Adult Swim, it seems, would rather spend their promotion budget informing their audience of a two-week “Saved by the Bell” run than let them know about their newest big-budget anime acquisition. So everyone, tune in to Eureka 7 this weekend, enjoy the slick, colorful animation and all the windsurfin' Giant Mecha jargon, and be sure to visit the Adult Swim official message boards and post “Eureka Rulz, Bayside Droolz.” It's also a pretty good show, too.

I so agree with the fact [as] is promoting the hell out of Saved By The Bell, yet only 1 commercial has aired of Eureka Seven. Not only has only one been aired, but it also gets a really late commercial spot.

I saw the one Eureka 7 commercial several times, but I am left to wonder why a LIVE ACTION show NOT based on any animation is even being AIRED in the first place.

Hey, Adult Swim? College age males do not have the slightest interest in Saved by the Bell, it was a show made for 12 year olds.

If they wanted to give us nostalga, I suggest the original Ninja Turtles or even Gummi Bears!

But I might miss the Eureka 7, stupid job. And yes, the Dark One has cometh on the Yu-Gi-Oh, horribly editted to boot.

Apparently, CN only wants one hit anime series (Inu Yasha) at a time. Or perhaps they are just idiots. How many other series have they managed to kill off due to some sort of mishandling? Gundam Wing was a hit on CN back in the day and MSG seemed to be doing well until 9/11 (which, I believe, is the reason the series was tossed). And yet the completely botched SEED. In addition, they mishandled Rurouni Kenshin by airing it on Toonami instead of AS (which they have said themselves). I suspect Yu Yu Hakusho faced a similar problem.

Hell, they screwed up by swapping Toonami for that stupid Miguzi and now show most of their stuff only on Saturdays, which I hear (and am not suprised) that relatively few people watch TV on Saturdays.

However, I can't even comprehend what they are thinking by barely advertising a series that could be a big hit and are instead concerned with Saved by the Bell (which, apparently, is only going to be on for two weeks). I was happy to hear that Bleach would air on AS instead of Toonami, but I fear for how it will be (mis)handled.

they cut the intro as well... at least they did on the Fix.

if Eureka Seven fails, then Adult Swim is to blame for the shitty way they're handling it.

I was just reading about Saved By The Bell airing on AS in another anime forum and the same thing was said by a person or two. It's being aired for people to laugh at how bad it is. However, I still think its a shame that they are barely advertising for Eureka Seven.

Oh, this kills me inside a bit. Of course I'm not surprised they chose a live-action show, I mean, CN keeps showing live-action movies from the early to mid-nineties...

And then they pass out and leave the T.V. on for the rest of the night. This explains why the anime ratings jump whenever a popular commedy (Futurama) is placed first thing on Saturday.

Good to hear that Eureka seveN is "a pretty good show", I have been wondering if it is any good.

I agree, Fruits Basket could have been aired. I know a lot of people who enjoyed the manga tremendously. But it's an anime directed towards girls, and those are pretty hard to sell. We'll probably see shoujo sometime in the next few years though, since it's quite popular. Actually, that might just be my wishful thinking. -_-;

As for Eureka 7, I really don't know what to expect from a show about mechs and flying surfboards. I'll take your word for it though.

More than likely these stoned and drunk college students are the idiots who are keeping 12 Oz Mouse and all those other crappy William Street "Original Comedies"... well atleast they refer to them as comedies cause most people I know, and on the internet can care less for those stupid shows because there is nothing funny about them.

I've heard people who talk crap about the original shows aired during [as] on the adult swim forum get banned permanently. My friend started a topic about how much Squidbillies suck and how everyone should stop watching it, and he told me he got banned. Yet they run that stupid story on their front page about [as] fans embracing saved by the bell, yet it's people talking crap about them airing it to begin with.

Really, they ban them permanently? I guess it's their way of plugging their ears and saying really loudly, "La, la, la, we're not listening," or a, "What? Our original shows are crap? Banned! No one disses our original shows, no matter how much they suck!"

While an accurate assessment that the [adult swim] "original comedies" have low production values and aim for cheap laughs, they're well liked, and [adult swim] can afford to make hoards of new episodes to keep people interested. As long as they do well, they will never go away.

Those shows are more a product of internet conditioning, if anything; I doubt that, had websites like SA, EBW or NG not existed, they would be popular at all.
