I was looking on a website and it mentioned that in addition to the 6 episodes of Please Save My Earth, there was also a 99 minute movie made. Do you think it will ever come out over here in the states? I dunno, I felt kinda rushed during the last episode and maybe the movie would fill in some gaps. Actually, I wish they would have just made more episodes, but what can you do?

I don't know about a movie, but the reason why it was rushed was that the manga it's based off of is really long. It's another case of trying to cram too much manga into a small OVA series. It's a shame 'cause it's a really great OVA. I remember waiting for each tape to come out from VIZ back in the day.

I figured it was something silly like that for the rushed ending. Didn't I see that someone was releasing PSME graphic novels in a couple of months?
Well, the movie I think was just a summary of the 6 episodes anyway, so I guess it's no big deal if it doesn't come to the states. |

The movie is basically the OVA episodes edited together with some minor changes.

Viz is releasing the Manga on October 22. I've read that the movie adds a bit at the end that gives it more narrative closure, but I haven't seen it.
I like the end of the series; it's got a sort of poetic, open-ended resolution that feels more like life to me. Same reason I didn't feel let down by Eva, I guess. |
