I don't know much about this series, but I can't help but notice that new character designs seem to be flowing constantly for this show. How many characters are there?

They are the students of Class A. They are 20, there are much more characters than that.

Theres two whole classes actually, but it's the first class that's focused on since it's the MC's class. Then there are a few extra characters outside that and villains of course. In my opinion though, the series does a good job at showcasing characters other than the main group.

Mina's costume is like something from a 90's LSD paint party. I love it!
But man, no costume showcase for Shoji?! His Cyborg 009 inspired get up is one of the best IMHO.
