Hooray for another live-action Mortal Kombat adaptation! Scorpion is conspicuous in his absence though.

Even though it's Advertorializing somebody's Mortal Kombat fan-zine, how many children of the late 70's remember the old Fotonovel paperbacks of '78-'79 movies and a dozen Star Trek episodes--making a "comic" transcript of the movie out of stills, with balloon-dialogue--which were just about the next best darn thing to VCR's, in their day?

Had a half-dozen of the movie ones, in my day, and their version of the '78 Bakshi "Lord of the Rings" still sits on my bookshelf. Cool

Unfortunately Scorpion had succumbed to the background radiation. "get over here" more like "get me outta here"

Absolutely nothing to do with Mortal Kombat & its 100% original.

The title of this article seemed promising, but the actual content is half-baked.

This seems like a step of from 3D poser smut, not-quite-porn but showing enough women in scanty clothes in lascivious situations that it becomes obvious that it caters to more prurient interests.

It's unfortunate. The idea of using the elements of photographic techniques and live action actors/models to recreate the aesthetic of manga is nifty. But the series has all the earmarks of SFW smut: a convoluted plot which necessitates gorgeous, scantily clad women (and only women!) to to fight one another over ridiculous stakes as they venture into a danger-zone populated with CGI monsters who exist to menace them in fetishized ways.

Dollars to donuts, it's made for fetishists. Enjoy your mind contol/vore/tentacle kink, but don't tell me it's aiming for something other than spank fodder.

Not exactly a new idea, they had photo comics in Britain decades ago. I remember getting a bunch of early 1980s Eagle comics from a neighbour and finding Doomlord, about a shapeshifting rubber mask alien with a disintegration ring, cheesy as heck.
