Now I kind of want to restart the game so that I can get the full effect of the patch. When I stopped playing, I was on the home stretch so to speak.

I'd say it's worth finishing it on the old localization just to unlock NG+ (and for maximum effect). I know there were a couple rough patches (gameplay wise) that I wouldn't mind breezing through on a replay.
I got the "true" ending the first time just by playing it the way I usually play Ys, but would absolutely do everything exactly the same way again. |
