I tried to watch Honey and Clover and it was just a miss with me. I was something of an odd duckling in school, and often alone, felt like I was drifting for a time, so the character of Rei in 3-Gatsu no Lion was relatable. Also, I played a lot of chess when I was young. Shogi seems like a lot more intense of a game.
