Interesting that the changed the official name from "Somali" to "Somari."

Somari is definitely a breath of fresh air as far as modern fantasy stories go, it has a very charming story with a deep emotional weight put to it that really focuses on the relationship of that between father and daughter and the bigger world at large, i def recommend this for people to read, and the anime seems will be good too based on the pv so far so i will check that out when it comes out too

Maybe they don't want to get confused with Somalia(country) or Somali Pirates and those names sounds familiar. That's why they changed name to ''Somari".

It's originally ソマリ (Somari) in Japanese.
I'm guessing it got translated to Somali at first because リ can be used for li or ri sounds in english.
Like the name Ellie is translated to エリー, and Eric is エリック
Since Somali is already a real word, things like google translate would favor that translation.
