What a weird conclusion considering Ikeda can be heard alongside him in the same PV. And why would Ikeda need a successor to begin with?

The same reason why Dragon Ball Daima took the opportunity of the child characters to test run a mostly new voice cast: the actors are not getting any younger

Where's the correlation here though? Tsuda is voicing a different character, an evil twin brother, who doesn't sound like Ikeda at all.

You just said he was an evil twin brother, I feel like the point should be pretty obvious. It's like asking why Ikeda voiced Full Frontal when he's a different guy

Going by this logic Sanji's twins should sound exactly like him then too.
Shamrock and Shanks are supposed to sound drastic differently, they're different characters period. Tsuda isn't Ikeda's successor or whatever other theories people have in mind. On top of that it's direspectful towards Ikeda since he's still alive and kicking. If something were to happen, Tsuda wouldn't be the right choice for Shanks anyway considering his tone and delivery.

I didn't know you had a direct line to Oda's house and he told you how his characters are "supposed" to sound like. It's very "direspectful" of me to not realize that
Though I would also say it's "direspectful" of you to be such good friends with Oda and not read his manga, where a pair of giant guards saw and heard Shamrock and explicitly thought he was Shanks

Not going to complain about TsudaKen though not sure if they're going to be replacing Shuichi Ikeda either....I know he'd been cutting back and hasn't done a lot of recent voiceover, but I feel like he would still stick with his current roles unless he's physically unable to (like Kazuki Yao).
